Last Dance

This blog is my “last dance” for the big day.  In just a few short hours, the polls will open.  This is an important election for our Commonwealth: the governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and all seats in the House of Delegates are up this year.  I hope that you will get out and vote, if you haven’t done so already.

Here in Vienna, you will choose among seven candidates for six Town  Council positions.

In these blogs, at the Candidate Forum, and in personal discussions, I hope I have made my case for your vote.  If re-elected, I will continue to do what I have done on council.  I will:

  • Avoid costly commitments on luxury items like aquatic centers;

  • Challenge increasing expenditures in a shaky economic environment;

  • Continue advocating for better parks, roads, sidewalks and services;

  • Champion trees and canopy restoration;

  • Support our police; and last but not least:

  • Fight to preserve democracy in our country and to keep Tysons casino-free.

It has been an honor to serve on council the past 5 ½ years, and on the Planning Commission for eight years prior to my council stint.   Thanks to all of you for granting me the privilege of representing you.  When you sit down at the booth on Tuesday, I hope that you will choose me.  Chuck.  Again.
